Gloria’s works investigates the self and the ways in which identity is formed through aspiration and desire. Her work is a playful exercise of dissolving and remodelling of the self, through which she can navigate the space between self and fantasy, identity and desire, creating a space where she can explore her own identity as a woman. Gloria approaches her work from a personal standpoint and is interested in unearthing and interrogating ideals which are absorbed into female self-defined identity, to question how these influence both the formation and perception of the self. Gloria mainly works with video and object sculptures; tease, curiosity and playfulness are key components.
